Production Planner

Job summary

Maintain supply and inventory planning parameters, manage material requirements and orders, and ensure materials are available to meet production needs. Coordinate with manufacturing and supply chain partners to resolve shortages and constraints, support daily operations, and improve planning and material flow.

Key Responsibilities Define and maintain supply and inventory planning parameters to achieve service-level targets while optimizing inventory. Support SIOP and Master Production Schedule (MPS) activities. Maintain accurate planning data including lead times, quantities, and inventory/stock policies. Manage material requirements using MRP, Kanban, and other replenishment methods. Ensure availability of raw materials, components, and subassemblies to support production requirements. Create, monitor, and reschedule manufacturing and purchase orders based on changing requirements. Manage backorders, material shortages, and replenishment priorities to minimize production disruptions. Participate in daily Short Interval Management (SIM) and manufacturing operations meetings. Identify planning or material-flow constraints and coordinate corrective actions. Partner with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams to improve material flow and availability. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory, planning, and production performance. Qualifications 3–5 years of supply chain, material planning, or production planning experience within a manufacturing environment. College diploma or related education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related discipline is an asset. Hands-on knowledge of MRP, MPS, inventory management, replenishment, production planning, and shortage management. Strong Excel skills and proficiency with ERP/planning systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and make effective decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Intermediate bilingual French and English communication skills.

Requirements

Requires 3–5 years of supply chain, material planning, or production planning experience in manufacturing, with hands-on knowledge of MRP, MPS, inventory management, replenishment, and shortage management. Strong Excel and ERP/planning system proficiency, analytical and organizational abilities, and intermediate French and English communication skills are sought; related college education is an asset.
