Family Office Accountant / Family Advisor Aurora, ON | Direct Hire | Base + Performance Bonus Company Overview: A leading private family office and investment organization is seeking a Family Office Accountant / Family Advisor to support the financial affairs of a highly successful, third-generation operator family with a significant private investment portfolio. This is a newly created opportunity to build and own a critical function supporting the family’s private financial activities, investments, and related entities. This role offers direct exposure to business owners and the opportunity to become a trusted advisor within a sophisticated private wealth environment. The Opportunity: You will support the family office function above the operating company level, partnering with family members and external advisors on accounting, investments, tax coordination, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: Manage accounting activities across multiple family entities, including holding companies, partnerships, trusts, investments, and other private structures Support private investment accounting, including transaction tracking, dividends, interest income, capital gains, and investment activity Prepare financial reporting packages, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for family members and advisors Oversee bank, investment, credit card, and loan account reconciliations Coordinate with external advisors, including tax professionals, auditors, investment managers, and private banks Assist with tax planning support, estate-related matters, and compliance requirements Support real estate-related accounting, including rental income, expenses, mortgages, property taxes, and asset documentation Serve as a trusted accounting partner while balancing advisory-level responsibilities with hands-on execution Ideal Background: 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience supporting multi-entity accounting structures (holding companies, partnerships, corporations, trusts, or investment entities) Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting Comfortable working directly with owners and handling highly confidential information Ability to balance strategic support with hands-on accounting responsibilities Strong attention to detail, judgment, and organizational skills Preferred Experience: Family office experience CPA or CPA candidate Private client / high-net-worth accounting experience Investment accounting exposure Trust, estate, partnership, or real estate accounting experience Experience working with CPAs, attorneys, investment advisors, and private banks Why This Opportunity: Newly created role with the opportunity to build a foundational family office function Direct partnership with experienced business owners and decision-makers Exposure to private investments, wealth management, tax planning, and complex financial structures Long-term opportunity within a sophisticated private investment environment Location: Primarily onsite in Aurora, ON with occasional support in Etobicoke, ON.
