BI PLATFORM OPERATIONS ENGINEER — TABLEAU, AMAZON QUICKSIGHT & AWS LOCATION: Toronto, ON - Hybrid (2-3 Days WFO) EXPERIENCE: 10+ years REQUIRED SKILLS • Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise BI platforms in production environments. • Strong experience with Tableau Server administration and operational support. • Strong hands-on experience with Amazon QuickSight administration, authoring, and production support. • Experience supporting and troubleshooting QuickSight Analyses, Dashboards, Datasets, Data Sources, Themes, Folders, Templates, permissions, and related assets. • Experience troubleshooting SPICE ingestion, dataset refreshes, direct queries, data-source connectivity, dashboard publishing, sharing, and access issues. • Experience with Amazon QuickSight APIs / AWS SDKs, including programmatic management of QuickSight assets and permissions. • Working knowledge of Amazon Athena and troubleshooting Athena-based BI workloads. • Working knowledge of the AWS Glue Data Catalog, including databases, tables, schemas, partitions, and metadata. • Understanding of AWS Lake Formation, particularly permissions and data-access management. • Experience with AWS Lambda and troubleshooting serverless application components. • Experience with Amazon API Gateway, particularly Lambda integrations and REST APIs. • Strong understanding of RESTful API concepts and experience troubleshooting API integrations. • Hands-on experience with Amazon CloudWatch, including logs, metrics, dashboards, and alarms. • Strong understanding of AWS IAM, roles, policies, permissions, and service-to-service access. • Experience troubleshooting BI platform infrastructure, data connectivity, authentication, authorization, permissions, and performance issues. • Ability to analyze application, server, API, Lambda, and AWS service logs to troubleshoot issues across multiple technology layers. • Experience with production incident management, problem management, and root-cause analysis. • Experience with scripting or automation using technologies such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, AWS CLI, or similar tools. • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills. NICE TO HAVE • Experience or familiarity with Amazon Q in QuickSight / Quick Suite, including conversational and generative BI capabilities. • Experience with Amazon Q Topics and semantic configuration for natural-language analytics. • Familiarity with Quick Suite agents, chat/agent experiences, and Spaces. • Understanding of modern web applications and experience with Angular, JavaScript, or TypeScript. • Experience operating a BI Platform-as-a-Service or BI-as-a-Service environment. • Experience supporting custom applications built around Amazon QuickSight APIs. • Experience with embedded QuickSight and programmatic dashboard or asset management. • Experience troubleshooting end-to-end data flows involving QuickSight, Athena, Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, S3, and IAM. • Experience supporting serverless architectures involving API Gateway and Lambda. • Experience with Tableau Server infrastructure upgrades, backup/restore, monitoring, and performance tuning. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and application deployment processes. • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and cloud deployment practices. • Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change-management practices. • Experience supporting enterprise environments with strong security, governance, and access-control requirements.

Requirements

Requires 10+ years of experience and strong hands-on production support and administration experience with Tableau Server, Amazon QuickSight, and AWS services. Candidates should be skilled in troubleshooting data access, APIs, serverless components, and platform incidents, with scripting and strong analytical, documentation, and communication abilities.
