AV Group NB Inc. is currently recruiting for the following position: Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent Role Overview Reporting to Maintenance Manager, this leadership role is critical in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance of all mechanical maintenance functions across the site. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of mechanical maintenance supervisors and tradespeople. Oversee day-to-day mechanical maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, plant uptime, and efficient resource utilization. Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs aligned with mill production goals. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and reliability teams to diagnose equipment issues and implement effective solutions. Plan and execute mechanical shutdown activities, including budgeting, scheduling, manpower planning, and safety compliance. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable OH&S legislation, ISO 140001 and AV Group NB Inc. policies, procedures, & guidelines. Support capital project implementation, including design input, installation oversight, and commissioning support. Monitor maintenance KPIs and drive continuous improvement in maintenance performance, cost control, and asset management. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education. Preference will be given to those with a Mechanical background; 3 years’ experience in a similar position; Previous Pulp Mill experience would be considered an asset; Experience working in a unionized environment considered an asset. Candidates must have at least 2 years of post-secondary education, preferably in a mechanical field, and 3 years of experience in a similar role. Previous experience in a pulp mill and working within a unionized environment are considered strong assets.
