Life Insurance: Basic Life Insurance Job Description The Buyer performs intermediate-level procurement activities and serves as a key connective tissue between internal departments—such as Sales, Finance, and Production—to ensure procurement strategies align with broader business goals. In this role, the Buyer applies established purchasing techniques and a solid understanding of supply chain logistics to manage vendor relationships, support production needs, and navigate the fast-paced apparel and athletics industry. Working under moderate guidance, the Specialist identifies and vets suppliers, assists in contract negotiations, and solves operational challenges through standard operating procedures. This position operates in an on-site / hybrid working environment located in North York, ON. Manage the full lifecycle of Purchase Orders (POs), including creation, shipment tracking, accurate data entry, and proactive resolution of logistics bottlenecks. Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess waste (dead stock), anticipating future material needs to maintain lean inventory. Manage departmental budgets, audit vendor invoices to ensure accurate charges, and drive a strong ROI on all company spend. Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Production to ensure procurement activities support the entire business ecosystem and satisfy internal customer needs. Conduct ethical sourcing audits regarding supplier labor practices and environmental impact while solving straightforward supply chain problems using standard operating procedures. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 4 to 5 years of prior experience in buying, purchasing, or a related procurement role (strong experience in the apparel industry preferred; strong interest in the sports industry preferred) Well-versed in purchasing techniques, logistical supply chain management, vendor selection processes, and ERP/MRP systems. Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret data trends, supplier performance, and bottom-line invoice details. Excellent oral and written communication skills paired with strong customer service acumen to maintain healthy vendor partnerships. Additional Information Pay Transparency: The salary range for this position is $54,075 - $80,752 CAD/ year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
