The opportunity As a Catastrophe Claims Adjuster, you will play a pivotal role in helping our clients navigate through challenging times with confidence and care. What You'll Do Review facts, policy, technical reports, fire marshal's reports, case law, and make decisions on coverage, value of first-party claims, and negotiate/settle the claims accordingly. Investigate by meeting with insureds, third parties, witnesses, and lawyers to acquire facts and information. Provide outstanding customer service and keep related parties advised of the claims status. Ensure data accuracy, issue payments to insureds, vendors, and other relevant parties. Negotiate and reconcile contractor estimates to arrive at an appropriate scope of repair and settlement. Conduct physical inspections of damaged properties, including taking photographs, using a drone, crafting diagrams, and completing a scope of damage and estimate using Xactimate estimating software. Identify large losses, questionable claim indicators, and subrogation opportunities early. Maintain accurate reserving of claims files. Your success as a Catastrophe Claims Adjuster will be determined by your ability to: Accurately assess and settle moderate to high complexity property claims. Ensure timely and effective communication with all collaborators. Maintain high standards of data accuracy and claims file management. Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring client happiness. What You'll Bring College or University degree, or CIP designation. Prior customer service experience, preferably with face-to-face interaction. 3+ years of property personal and commercial experience. Knowledge of building construction and estimating software. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Outstanding customer service and communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to travel across Canada at a moment's notice and work away from home for up to 30 days at a time. Capability to work extended hours and weekends 365 days/year. Valid driver’s license. What You’ll Get The salary band for this position ranges from $85,000 to $100,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity. Requirements
Requires a degree or CIP designation and at least 3 years of personal and commercial property experience. Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to travel across Canada for up to 30 days at a time.
