Job Summary: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of materials, products, and resources within and outside the manufacturing plant. This role ensures that all logistical operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations including both the delivery and receipt of goods. The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in supporting production schedules, managing inventory, and ensuring timely deliveries to customers and our service department. Please note that this is an afternoon shift position. The hours of this position are 4:00PM to 2:30AM Monday to Thursday. Job Responsibilities: 1. Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods, and the safe and successful loading/unloading of trucks. 2. Negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics service providers to secure cost-effective and reliable transportation and border services. 3. Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any transportation and/or border issues that arise. 4. Collaborate with the warehouse and production teams to maintain accurate inventory levels and manage stock replenishment utilizing the ERP system. 5. Ensure that all inventory is received, and labelled and all movements are accurately recorded in the inventory management system. 6. Conduct periodic inventory audits and/or cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies in inventory records. 7. Work closely with the purchasing, receiving, production, warehouse, and service teams to ensure that materials and products are processed and labeled in a timely manner and are available as needed on and off-site. 8. Coordinate with suppliers to manage lead times, delivery schedules, and order quantities. 9. Support production planning by providing accurate and timely information on material availability and delivery status. 10. Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documentation. 11. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including import/export laws, hazardous materials handling, and safety standards. 12. Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including shipments, deliveries, and inventory movements. 13. Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency in all areas. 14. Implement best practices in logistics management and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs). 15. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and support lean manufacturing initiatives. 16. Act as a point of contact for customers and suppliers regarding logistics inquiries, delivery schedules, and order status. 17. Resolve any logistical issues or delays that impact customer satisfaction and communicate updates proactively to the appropriate parties affected. 18. Build and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, carriers, customers and suppliers. 19. Evaluate the performance of logistics vendors and negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings and improve service quality. Job Specific Qualifications: 1. Proven experience in Logistics, Warehousing and Manufacturing Environment 2. Proficiency in using tools such as Microsoft office and shipping platforms (Fed-ex/Purolator/UPS) 3. Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and ERP. 4. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills 5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities 6. Experience planning and negotiating with carriers and transport/customs brokers 7.
