OSSTF-ESSP Supply Educational Assistant (Daily Occasional/Long-Term Assignment) Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) provides first class education to students and families throughout Huron and Perth Counties. Start Date: As soon as possible Hours of Work: Casual/Call-in basis, Monday - Friday, from September to June (10 months) Compensation Package Details Daily Rate: $27.16 per hour + vacation pay as outlined in the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement Long-Term Assignment Rate: $28.11 per hour + vacation pay as outlined in the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement Pension Plan: Defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System ( ) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Through TELUS Which Includes 24/7 confidential support Access to information on personal fitness, nutrition, career, financial and legal advice; relationship & family support, and overall wellbeing resources. Core Responsibilities Apply Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) strategies to promote positive behavior (training provided) Assist with physical mobility, positioning, lifting, equipment transfers, and personal care (e.g., toileting). Foster safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments. Maintain strict confidentiality standards with student, staff and school information Qualifications 2 year Educational Support Diploma or equivalent board-recognized experience (Degree/Diploma in Child & Youth Care, Developmental Services, Social Work, or a related field). Experience supporting students with special needs or behavioural challenges is an asset and school-based experience is considered an asset; Flexibility, patience, empathy and the ability to work closely with students with complex needs, classroom teacher, and Administration; Candidates must be capable of performing the essential physical duties of the position, such as running/walking on uneven ground, lifting, positioning and transferring children and equipment and utilizing Behaviour Management System techniques where required; Reliable transportation and availability for on-call/casual shifts with short notice. Requirements

Requires a 2-year Educational Support Diploma or equivalent experience in a related field such as Child & Youth Care or Social Work. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting and transferring students and possess reliable transportation for on-call shifts.
