Your role: Collaborate with Partners and the client service team to plan, execute, and complete a wide range of review engagements, compilation engagements, and tax engagements for owner-managed businesses and private enterprises, Manage engagement workflow from planning through completion, including monitoring timelines, assigning resources, tracking deliverables, following up with clients, and proactively communicating with Partners, staff, and clients, Perform detailed reviews of working paper files to ensure engagement documentation, conclusions, financial statements, tax filings, and client deliverables are complete, accurate, and aligned with professional standards and firm quality expectations, Manage project financials, including budgets, WIP, and timely billing, Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements, competing priorities, and shifting deadlines in a fast-paced public accounting environment, Support, mentor, and train a team of professionals on review and compilation engagements, financial statement presentation, note disclosure, tax preparation, and firm methodology, Identify accounting, tax, and business advisory matters and provide practical recommendations to clients, Review personal, corporate, and trust, including related schedules, and compliance filings. Assist clients with year-end planning, tax estimates, remuneration planning, HST/GST matters, payroll-related questions, and other recurring compliance matters, Comfortable leveraging technology, firm systems, and process improvements to enhance engagement efficiency, collaboration, and client service, Provide personal and attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships, Add value by identifying client service opportunities, including cross-team collaboration with tax, advisory, bookkeeping, and specialty service teams, Coach, mentor, and develop assigned team members by providing timely feedback, supporting performance goals, and identifying opportunities for professional growth, Share your technical or human skills with the broader team by developing and facilitating ongoing training opportunities, Engage with all levels of our team while working to bring our strategy to life and participate in firm wide events that foster our amazing workplace culture, Generate new business opportunities by promoting the firm’s expertise and services, as well as developing ideas and solutions. What you bring to the table: Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA) with at least 5 years’ public accounting experience, Strong experience serving owner-managed businesses and private enterprises, including review engagements, compilation engagements, and related corporate tax returns, Minimum of 2 years in a progressive management role with a CPA firm, Proven leadership skills in a collaborative environment, Demonstrated ability to mentor staff, support professional development, and build effective, high-performing teams, Exceptional interpersonal, communication and client service skills, Proven track record of planning and completing effective and efficient review, compilation, and tax engagements on time and on budget, Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards for private enterprises, compilation and review engagement standards, and personal and corporate tax compliance, Strong technical and analytical skills matched with problem-solving skills and professional judgement to help you find practical, client-focused solutions in an efficient manner, Curiosity and an eye for detail that allows you to view challenges from multiple perspectives and enhance clients’ knowledge along the way, A passion for learning and developing self and team members to the next level, Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office, CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, and other common accounting and tax software.
