Baldface Lodge is looking for a Lodge Baker to join our kitchen team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced baker who loves the energy of seasonal, lodge-based work and takes pride in creating delicious food in a fast-paced, remote environment. Reporting to the Head Chef, you'll be responsible for keeping our 48+ guests well-fed with fresh, high-quality baked goods throughout their stay—from morning pastries and muffins to sandwich bread, cookies, and daily plated desserts. You'll also jump in wherever you're needed to help the kitchen team deliver an exceptional guest experience. Baldface Lodge presents an exceptional work environment, affording the chance to disconnect from routine life during 7-day shifts and spend your days off exploring everything the beautiful and vibrant mountain town of Nelson, BC, has to offer. Responsibilities Overview: Prepare baked items for breakfast and lunches daily. These may include frozen prepared croissants, cinnamon buns, muffins, scones, loafs, and cookies. Prepare lunch snacks for dietary needs. Bake parbaked bread for sandwiches and après when needed. Ensure the Garde Manger Chef has an adequate supply of bread for lunches. Prepare simple and delicious plated desserts as per the set menu for dinner service. Produce alternate choices for guests with special dietary needs as per the set menu. Assist kitchen staff in the execution of their tasks when needed. Assist the Garde Mange with the completion of the snowcat lunches in the morning. Ensure an accurate inventory of ingredients is kept. Prepare the food order for your section of responsibility and communicate the list of items to be ordered to the Head Chef. Work with the kitchen staff to expedite dinner service and complete the nightly cleaning and shut down of the kitchen as needed. $$: The starting remuneration for this role is $270 per day. Your actual daily compensation will be determined based on your relevant experience and expertise in alignment with the job's demands, as well as your tenure. After the initial interview, we will be able to provide you with precise compensation details.
