Description West Guilford Baptist Church (WGBC), is seeking a full-time (or half-time) Lead Pastor who will faithfully preach God’s Word, shepherd God’s people, equip believers for ministry, and help lead our congregation into the opportunities God has prepared for us in the years ahead. Overview of Church and Community West Guilford is located in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands of Ontario. The area consists of permanent and seasonal residents, retirees, families, and individuals relocating to cottage country. The county population in winter is approximately 20,000, during the summer and peak vacation months our population swells to 43,000-60,000 people as seasonal cottagers and tourists arrive. The median age in the area is 52.8 years, which is significantly higher than the provincial average of 41.8. As a rural county, our church has identified several growing challenges within the community. These include housing affordability, poverty, financial pressures and transportation limitations. We believe these challenges present opportunities for Christian ministry, service, and outreach. We are a close-knit evangelical community, sharing ministries with other local churches. Qualifications And Education Requirements Preferred: Degree from a recognized Bible college or theological seminary. Additional ministry training and leadership development experience considered an asset.
