Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Obstetrics (including intra-partum care) required Current Obstetric O.R. certificate and/or experience required Perioperative experience an asset Perinatal Nursing Certificate an asset Proficient in venipuncture and IVs Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required Current Fetal Health Surveillance course Competency with vaginal exams during labour Breastfeeding certificate required Demonstrated ability to assist and support breastfeeding Demonstrated commitment to family centered care Dedication to continuing education Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position Satisfactory employment and attendance record required The ideal candidate is strong in patient-centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. Requirements
Requires current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, current BLS and NRP certifications, a current Fetal Health Surveillance course, and at least two years of recent obstetric experience including intrapartum care. Also requires an Obstetric OR certificate and/or experience, breastfeeding certification, proficiency in venipuncture and IVs, and competency in vaginal examinations during labour.
