Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Powertrain Engine OBD Calibration Engineer (Windsor, Ontario). Contract with potential for long term Hourly pay range: $38.00 - $40.00 On-site Ability to Travel to the USA RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) calibration solutions for gasoline powertrain systems. Perform diagnostic verification and validation testing to ensure system performance and compliance. Manage technical aspects of OBD diagnostic calibrations to meet CARB emissions regulations. Define and support diagnostic system requirements during hardware design and development phases. Utilize INCA and other instrumentation tools for data acquisition, analysis, storage, and calibration activities. Analyze test data and calibrate diagnostic thresholds to ensure regulatory compliance and system robustness. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve diagnostic and calibration issues. Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, timing projections, and calibration summaries. Support vehicle and system validation activities, including occasional travel (2-4 weeks annually). Ensure delivery of high-quality diagnostic calibration solutions under the direction of engineering leadership. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in powertrain, engine controls, calibration, or OBD diagnostics. Proficiency with INCA, MATLAB, and Simulink/Stateflow. Basic understanding of gasoline engine systems, propulsion hardware, and engine functionality. Experience analyzing test data and troubleshooting calibration-related issues. Strong communication, organization, and technical reporting skills.
