We are seeking a full-time detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager. In This Role, You Will Process time and cost entries, adjustments, and write-offs. Process accounts receivable write-offs. Prepare vendor payments. Process invoice adjustments and reversals. Update client and matter information within the firm's accounting system. Process client retainer and invoice payments received by phone using LawPay. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Complete daily bank runs. Respond to inquiries from lawyers and staff regarding accounting matters. Assist with month-end balancing, and reporting as needed. Provide administrative support to the Accounting Department and assist with coverage for other accounting functions as required. What You Bring To The Team Minimum two (2) years of accounting experience in a professional services environment, preferably within a law firm. Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of Law Society trust accounting rules and legal accounting practices is considered an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications. Experience with Soluno and NetDocuments is considered an asset. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong commitment to client service and teamwork. The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 and is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Requirements
Applicants need at least two years of accounting experience in a professional services environment; law firm experience is preferred. A diploma or degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred, along with Microsoft 365 proficiency, strong accuracy and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
