We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our team. Qualifications Minimum five years of experience in a legal administrative role, supporting a litigation practice Proficient in: Administrative software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Frequently used third-party websites / services, such as BC Online, LTSA, and Divorcemate B.C.’s Supreme Court Rules (knowledge of the Civil Rules is a must, knowledge of the Family Rules is an asset) Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively Systems-oriented with superb organizational skills Service-minded, with an ability to professionally manage client relationships in emotionally-charged situations Familiarity with time-keeping is an asset Responsibilities Handle client and counsel inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits Open and close client files and maintain up-to-date filing and bring forward systems Lawyer scheduling and management of lawyer calendars Prepare and manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and couriers Conduct conflict searches Prepare and manage client billing, including invoicing and accounts receivable Record expenses, deposits and disbursements Draft simple court documents Prepare documents for filing with court registries, oversee filing and service of documents What We Offer A long-term, full-time permanent position A supportive work environment where you can grow with our team Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM on-site work schedule Competitive compensation, including extended health benefits, and opportunities for professional development This is an exciting opportunity to be welcomed as a key part of a close and vibrant firm.
