The candidate will have the option to work from one of our offices in either West Kelowna, Penticton or Kelowna but willing to travel between offices periodically when required. The Newest Member Of Our Team Will Have Completed a Certificate or Diploma in legal administration or a Paralegal Program, or bring an equivalent level of experience Ideally a minimum of 4+ years experience as a Paralegal in Family Law, but all applications will be considered Excellent organizational/follow-up skills; attention to detail, proofreading, and accuracy Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion Communicate professionally and demonstrate a high level of client focus Leadership training or aspirations would be an asset Highlights Of The Role Include Open new files, complete conflict checks, prepare physical files if needed Preparation of court documents and drafting correspondence Scheduling appointments, examinations for discovery, trials, etc. Preparation of statements of accounts, sending out correspondence Monthly billing and accounting tasks, such as cheque requests Purging and closing files General legal assistant and paralegal duties as assigned Vacation/Sick coverage for the team as needed We offer an attractive remuneration package, excellent staff, and a fun workplace. Requirements
Applicants should have a certificate or diploma in legal administration or a paralegal program, or equivalent experience; ideally, they will have at least four years of family law paralegal experience. Strong organization, follow-up, accuracy, confidentiality, professional communication, client focus, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are expected.
