The Opportunity Reporting to the Director of Instruction, Learning Services, the Child Care Services Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, administration, supervision and operational support of district-operated child care services and child care partnerships operating on school grounds.The Child Care Services Coordinator works collaboratively with principals, early childhood educators and educational assistants assigned to child care programming, families, community partners, and district departments to support safe, accessible, high-quality child care services throughout the district. Key Responsibilities Child Care OperationsCoordinate district-operated child care programs and services operating on school groundsSupport the effective day-to-day operation of child care programsMonitor enrolment, attendance, registrations, waitlists, and program utilizationRespond to operational issues and support program continuityAssist with the development and implementation of procedures and practices that support high-quality child care servicesOther duties as assigned Licensing and Regulatory ComplianceAct as the district lead for child care licensing complianceCoordinate licensing inspections, documentation, and follow-up requirementsMaintain records and documentation required by licensing authorities and government agenciesSupport compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, district policies, and proceduresMonitor regulatory changes and communicate implications to district staff and partners Program Staffing CoordinationCoordinate staffing requirements for district-operated child care programsProvide support, guidance, and operational coordination for educational assistants assigned to child care programmingCollaborate with principals, Human Resources, and district staff regarding staffing, onboarding, orientation, and training requirementsAssist with staffing schedules and continuity planning to support program operationsMonitor staffing needs and identify operational concerns related to staffing capacity, licensing requirements, and program continuitySupport operational continuity, including the coordination of staffing coverage and, where necessary, providing direct program support to address staffing absences and maintain licensing requirements and child care operationsSupport principals and district leadership in resolving staffing challenges affecting child care operationsPromote compliance with district procedures, licensing requirements, and workplace practices related to child care programming Family and Community EngagementServe as a primary district contact for families accessing district-operated child care servicesCoordinate family communications, registrations, and program informationRespond to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional mannerFoster positive relationships with families, caregivers, and community partners Child Care on School GroundsServe as the district liaison with third party licensed child care providers operating on school groundsCoordinate matters related to child care on School Grounds agreementsWork collaboratively with principals and providers to support the effective operation of child care servicesSupport the planning, implementation, and operational readiness of new child care sites and servicesCoordinate district efforts related to the continued expansion of child care opportunities for children and families Ministry Reporting and AdministrationCoordinate Ministry reporting and funding administrationSupport budget planning, utilization reporting, and program monitoringMaintain accurate records and administrative systems related to district child care servicesPrepare reports, correspondence, and information as required Qualifications & Experience Diploma or degree in Early Childhood EducationTraining in the British Columbia's Early Learning FrameworkMinimum three years of progressive experience in licensed child care services, program coordination, or a related fieldExperience coordinating programs, services, or operations involving multiple partner groups and RightsholdersKnowledge of BC child care licensing requirements and funding programsExperience working collaboratively with schools, families, community agencies, and government partners Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesClass 5 Driver's LicenseStandard First Aid CertificateCoordinate multiple priorities and complex operational activitiesBuild positive and collaborative relationships with staff, families, principals, and community partnersInterpret and apply legislation, regulations, policies, and proceduresCommunicate effectively, both verbally and in writingExercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalismWork independently and collaboratively within a team environmentUtilize technology and administrative systems effectivelyAnalyze information and develop practical solutions to operational challenges Why Join Sea to Sky?
