Ministry of Transportation and Transit We are currently recruiting for five (5) permanent, full-time Engineer in Training (EIT) positions in various locations across BC. These opportunities apply to recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering from an Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC) accredited post-secondary institution, with a focus on highway geometrics, traffic transportation, structural, and geotechnical disciplines. Engineer in Training Program $74,206.16 - $88,395.37 annually In the Ministry of Transportation and Transit’s Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Program, you will join a team of dedicated professionals who help shape British Columbia's transportation future. From major highway improvements and bridge projects to innovative infrastructure solutions, the team delivers projects that enhance safety, mobility, and connectivity throughout the province. The Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Program offers a unique opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience, receive dedicated mentorship, and build a strong foundation for a successful engineering career. Working under the direction and mentorship of a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) across a variety of engineering disciplines, you'll contribute to meaningful projects while developing technical expertise, project management skills, and professional competencies required for registration as a P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC). Through diverse assignments, collaborative learning, and exposure to complex infrastructure challenges, you'll gain the knowledge, confidence, and experience needed to thrive in your engineering career. Our current EIT job opportunities may include the following engineering specializations: Highway design, traffic and safety, structural and geotechnical. Qualifications for this role include: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an EGBC recognized and accredited post-secondary institution in one of the following disciplines (program completion by spring 2027 or within the last five (5) years (since spring 2022)): Civil engineering with a focus on transportation or a related field. Civil engineering with a focus on highway geometrics design or a related field. Civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering. Geological engineering, materials engineering and civil engineering with a focus on geotechnical and/or materials engineering. Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training with EGBC and must obtain registration within thirty (30) days of start date. Must be immediately eligible to accept permanent work in Canada. Valid Canadian Driver’s Licence; a valid BC Class 5 or 7 Driver’s Licence is required. Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Geological, or Materials Engineering from an EGBC accredited institution. Must be eligible for EIT registration with EGBC and possess a valid Canadian driver's license.
