Job summary

Job Role: Linux Desktop Engineer Location : Toronto, ON/Hybrid Position Type : Contract Role 6-12 months initially. Potential for Contract-to-Hire Ideal Candidate Rate: CAD 85-95/Hr (Depending on the experience) Must Have: Demonstrated enterprise Linux desktop engineering experience, with strong hands-on Ubuntu administration. Direct experience supporting Linux developer workstations and high-performance endpoint hardware. Hands-on experience with HCL BigFix administration, software packaging, automated deployment, and patch management. Experience deploying or supporting Zscaler, CrowdStrike, and ThreatLocker in managed endpoint environments. Strong Docker, containerization, virtualization, GPU, and developer-toolchain support experience. Automation and scripting experience using Bash and Python. Advanced networking knowledge, including troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, VPN, proxy, routing, firewall, and endpoint-connectivity issues. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting AI or machine-learning development environments and associated runtimes. Familiarity with Dell, HP, and Lenovo workstation platforms, with HP hardware familiarity, is considered an advantage. Experience supporting globally distributed engineering teams in a large enterprise environment. Exposure to DevOps platforms, CI/CD processes, and developer-productivity tooling. Note: AI-enabled tools may be used to sort applications based on job-related criteria.
