BigSteelBox—Canada’s most diversified shipping container company—is looking for a Class 3 Driver (Placement Technician) to join our Abbotsford, BC team. This is a permanent, full-time position starting as soon as possible. We offer a competitive base salary (dependent on experience), a profit-sharing plan, and a comprehensive benefits package, including a matching RRSP program after 3 months. Our store hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with overtime required as needed. Working as a Placement Technician at BigSteelBox is not your average truck driving role. Our drivers are essential to our success—often serving as the only face-to-face interaction customers have with our company. Because of this, delivering a positive, professional experience is key. In this role, you’ll work under the supervision of the Store Manager, serving both residential and commercial customers. THE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR: * Class 3 with airbrake License * Clean driver’s abstract * 3 years of professional driver experience * Towing/tilt deck truck experience is an asset * Forklift Operator Certificate an asset * Knowledge of safety operations and regulations * Able to speak, read, and write English WHAT YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: * Delivers and picks up (locally) empty/loaded BigSteelBoxes (shipping containers) * Safely operates and ensures ongoing maintenance of company vehicles * Keeps logbooks accurate and up-to-date * Loads/unloads, secures loads, tarps/straps loads as required * Operates a forklift/other support equipment at the store if required * Communicates with customers enthusiastically and delivers excellent customer service * Pressure washing, Decaling, & Re-painting BigSteelBoxes (shipping containers) as needed * Assist in delivery schedule optimization * Assist the Store Manager in any other duties as required REQUIRED SKILLS/CORE COMPETENCIES: * Accountability - Takes personal ownership and responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work * Adaptability - Adapts and responds to changing conditions, priorities, and requirements * Communication - Expresses and transmits information verbally and in writing consistently and clearly. * Networking and Relationship Building - Effectively build constructive, friendly, professional relationships with customers and colleagues * Planning and Organizing - Accurately estimate the duration and level of difficulty of tasks and projects. * Problem Solving - Uses logic and analytical methods to come to a realistic solution. * Service Orientation - Provides superior service to both internal and external customers. * Teamwork - Works cooperatively and effectively with others to reach a common goal.
