Estimator, Civil Bird Construction is seeking a Civil Estimator to join our Industrial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the estimating process from initial bid review through final submission, ensuring accurate, competitive, and complete estimates for industrial, heavy civil, infrastructure, power, and nuclear projects. What You Will Be Working On Lead the estimating process from opportunity review through bid submission. Review and interpret prime contracts, tender documents, drawings, specifications, and commercial requirements. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for civil and concrete scopes including excavation, foundations, underground services, structural concrete, grading, and site development. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier quotations. Develop detailed estimates, bid summaries, pricing strategies, and proposal submissions. Identify project risks, opportunities, exclusions, and scope gaps. Collaborate with operations, project management, and business development teams to develop execution strategies and estimate assumptions. Participate in bid reviews, client clarifications, and post-bid negotiations as required. Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and productivity benchmarks. Support project handover and transition to operations upon award. What We Are Looking For Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline. 6+ years of estimating experience supporting industrial, heavy civil, infrastructure, power, mining, or nuclear construction projects. Proven experience managing the estimating process from start to finish, including bid strategy, quantity take-offs, subcontractor pricing, bid closing, and submission. Strong experience reviewing and interpreting prime contracts, specifications, contract documents, and commercial terms and conditions. Demonstrated ability to independently prepare detailed estimates for complex construction projects. Strong understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing, productivity, and risk assessment. Experience performing quantity take-offs and cost analysis using industry-standard estimating tools. Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple pursuits and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience estimating EPC, Design-Build, Construction Management, and Lump Sum projects. Previous industrial, power generation, nuclear, mining, or major infrastructure project experience. Knowledge of InEight and similar estimating software.
