You will lead, coach, and support a fleet of drivers and tractors to ensure operational, safety, and performance objectives are met. Additionally, you will manage fleet utilization, resolve operational issues, and collaborate with various departments to optimize driver satisfaction and retention.

Job details

As a Fleet (Driver) Manager, you will be accountable for the overall productivity and performance of your assigned drivers and tractors. This will be accomplished through ongoing review of key performance indicators, followed by active participation in strategies to positively affect results. You will also expected to be a leader by providing direction and support on a day to day basis. Specific Responsibilities include: Lead, coach, and support an assigned fleet of drivers and 60–75 tractors to achieve operational, safety, and performance objectives. Build and maintain strong working relationships with drivers through regular communication, coaching, and performance discussions. Maximize fleet utilization by managing driver availability, equipment assignments, maintenance scheduling, and minimizing downtime. Manage driver performance in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, and compliance requirements. Investigate and resolve driver, customer service, dispatch, planning, maintenance, and operational issues in a timely and effective manner. Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers. Collaborate with Dispatch, Planning, Maintenance, Driver Services, and other departments to optimize fleet performance and driver satisfaction. Support driver retention efforts by proactively addressing concerns, fostering engagement, and promoting a positive driver experience. Ensure all dispatch and fleet management activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Our Ideal Candidate will possess: Experience in the transportation, logistics, or trucking industry is required. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop professional drivers. Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced operational environment. Strong organizational skills with a clear sense of urgency about planning and executing work. Proven ability to build positive employee relationships and support driver retention initiatives. Strong customer service mindset with the ability to balance driver needs and business objectives. Strong decision-making skills with the ability to assess situations quickly and take appropriate action. Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), dispatch software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other fleet management technologies. Shift: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 ET.
