This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional currently working in public accounting who is looking to make their first move into industry while continuing to work on sophisticated and varied tax matters. The role offers exposure to a broad range of corporate, personal, trust and high-net-worth tax matters, with a meaningful balance of compliance, tax planning, research and advisory work. The successful candidate will work closely with senior tax professionals and other internal stakeholders in a collaborative, high-performing environment. Responsibilities Assist with corporate income tax compliance for private holding, investment and operating companies Prepare and review personal and trust income tax returns Support tax planning for private corporations, shareholders, trusts and high-net-worth individuals Assist with estate, succession and wealth-transfer planning initiatives Research Canadian and international tax matters and prepare technical summaries and memoranda Support responses to tax authority inquiries and audits Coordinate with external tax, legal and other professional advisors Monitor tax filing requirements, deadlines and legislative developments Participate in special projects and broader tax planning initiatives Ideal Candidate Approximately 3–5 years of progressive tax experience, ideally within a public accounting firm Experience within Private Client Services, Private Company, High-Net-Worth, Owner-Managed Business or a similar tax practice CPA designation completed or nearing completion Exposure to corporate and personal tax compliance Trust and estate tax experience is an asset, but not required Enrollment in or an interest in completing the CPA In-Depth Tax Program is an asset Strong analytical, research and communication skills Highly motivated, intellectually curious and comfortable working within a small, high-performing team Interested in developing a broad tax skill set rather than specializing narrowly in one area This is particularly well suited to a strong Senior Associate who enjoys technically interesting tax work but is looking for broader exposure, closer involvement in decision-making and a long-term path outside public accounting.
