Blutic is seeking an experienced Senior IBM DB2 Database Administrator with 8 to 12 years of DB2 LUW experience and strong AWS Cloud expertise to support enterprise DB2 environments and cloud migration initiatives. The role will focus on DB2 administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, HADR, migration, security, automation, and production support, while also mentoring and transferring knowledge to existing DBAs to build a strong 7x24 operational support team. This is a 100% remote, 6-month contract opportunity with potential for extension. The candidate must be available to work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST, with flexibility to provide on-call support as needed. Required Qualifications & Skills 8–12 years of IBM DB2 LUW DBA experience across Linux, UNIX, and/or Windows, with expertise in performance tuning, HADR, backup/recovery, HA/DR, SQL, and troubleshooting. 2–3+ years of AWS Cloud experience, including Amazon RDS for DB2, AWS EC2, and production cloud migration/cutover experience. Experience with DB2 migrations to AWS, including AWS DMS, IBM InfoSphere CDC, or native DB2 backup/restore. Hands-on experience with AWS EC2, RDS, S3, EBS, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC, and KMS. Strong Shell/Bash and/or Python scripting skills, with knowledge of database security, encryption, access management, and SSL/TLS. Experience with Kubernetes/Amazon EKS, DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is a plus. Strong production support, communication, mentoring, documentation, and knowledge-transfer skills, with the ability to collaborate across global engineering and DevOps teams.
