What are your contributions to the team? Participate in the coordination of strategic collaborative research projects in extended reality (XR) with industry, academia and government partners. Support new and current projects by becoming an ‘expert’ in new technical arenas depending on the needs and requirements of each R&D project, and the technology that needs to be investigated. Support and integrate the creation of an extended reality lab at the Bombardier site. Defining a framework for an extended reality project through the use of novel software for various types of devices such as Microsoft HoloLens, Oculus, HTC Vive and Apple Vision Pro. Participate in the Bombardier XR framework development and support of use cases. Generate training and maintenance guidelines for the XR community. Regularly communicate and present your achievements to the teams and inspire innovative design thinking. Develop new intellectual property through the maturing of each innovation project. Develop business cases for implementation of new concepts: design and technical evaluation. How to thrive in this role? You are a second (2nd), third (3rd), or fourth (4th) year University student in Software Engineering or Computer Engineering or CEGEP level with an interest in aerospace. You are an expert in C++, C#, Swift or other programming languages. You have a GOOD knowledge of Unreal Engine, Unity, or Reality Composer Pro. You have some knowledge of RealityKit/ARKit. You have some knowledge of 3D modelling tools. You have experience using wearable technology, either augmented or virtual headsets You have the necessary skills to be able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. You have good communication skills You can analyze a problem and work systematically towards its solution You keep abreast of the latest technological developments and have a flair for research. You can think critically about a new situation and get to the heart of it You enjoy working in a team environment and are comfortable working in a matrix reporting relationship. You are autonomous, organized and have strong analytical skills You have strong skills in MS Office suite You convey complex ideas simply through written reports and presentation material You can work with a minimum level of supervision and be proactive in proposing solutions and improvements Boarding Information: Location: Administrative Centre (CA) Duration: months Flexible workplace-Hybrid It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
