About the Role As Financial Controller, you'll own the financial backbone of a company scaling fast. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll run our core accounting operations end-to-end while shaping the forecasts, board reporting, and financial systems that guide how we grow. Capital efficiency is core to how Botpress operates — this role exists to make sure our financial operations are as rigorous, automated, and AI-leveraged as the product we build. Responsibilities Own the month-end and year-end close, delivering accurate and timely financial statements Manage day-to-day accounting operations: revenue recognition, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations Automate and streamline finance operations — we expect you to leverage AI tools aggressively Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team (1-2 direct reports), fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality output Lead annual audits and ensure ongoing compliance with accounting standards Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models in partnership with the VP of Finance Prepare board and investor reporting, including SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, burn multiple) Design and implement financial systems, controls, and processes that scale with the business Partner with department leaders on spend management, headcount planning, and unit economics Requirements CPA designation 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role Bias toward automation — you'd rather build a system than repeat a task and you have a proven track record of that Experience at a high-growth SaaS or startup, with fluency in SaaS revenue recognition and metrics Hands-on FP&A experience: budgeting, forecasting, and board-level reporting Track record of building or upgrading financial systems, processes, and controls Detail-obsessed and deadline-driven, but comfortable with the ambiguity of a scaling startup Nice to have: Big 4 or audit background; experience with multi-entity or cross-border operations About Botpress Botpress raised a $25 million Series B round in 2025. What you’ll do

The Financial Controller will manage end-to-end accounting operations, including month-end close, revenue recognition, and financial reporting. They will also design scalable financial systems and partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and SaaS metrics.

Requirements

Candidates must be a CPA with over 5 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within a high-growth SaaS environment. A strong bias toward automation and experience with board-level reporting is required.
