As a Construction Administrator with a strong background in electrical systems and project management, you will play a key role in coordinating and monitoring construction activities, working closely with engineers, contractors, and trades to help ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, schedules, and contract requirements. Based in our Calgary office—formerly M+B Electrical Consulting Engineers —you will act as a critical liaison among project teams, supporting project planning, execution, and communication while contributing directly to the successful delivery of electrical projects throughout the Calgary region. Your daily impact Ensure the execution of small to large-scale work and compliance with drawings and specifications. Conduct site visits, prepare site report and site instructions for contractors, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Follow up with the contractor on drawing markups for the preparation of as-built drawings. On site testing of equipment including but not limited to: fire alarm, generator, transfer switch, electrical commissioning, and integrated systems testing. This includes after hours testing. Monitor schedules and attend site meetings. Verify work progress against drawings and specifications. Contribute to the resolution of technical issues and provide expertise in the interpretation of drawings and specifications. Analyze and negotiate change order pricing with contractors. Your profile Possession of a Red Seal Electrical Journeyman license. A minimum of 4 years of experience in the Commercial Building Electrical Services industry. Strong familiarity with applicable codes and standards, including the National Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, and various NFPA and CAN/ULC standards. Strong knowledge of fire alarm system verification requirements, including applicable codes and standards, testing procedures, and documentation. CFAA certification is preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license, and access to a vehicle. Excellent communications skills in English, verbal and written. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency in contract administration and project management software and platforms, such as Bluebeam, is an asset. Versatility, autonomy and proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality. Curiosity and initiative.
