Bradford Jacobs has partnered with a newly independent technology and industrial group headquartered in Toronto. The group is developing and commercialising innovative products across technology and robotics, alongside strategic investments within the technology sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, senior leadership team at an early stage and play a central role in building the organisation through its first phase of growth. The Role Reporting to the Board, the President will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and commercial performance of the business. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial leadership role. You will establish the corporate head office, build and lead the initial team, own the operating budget and P&L, and oversee the organisation through its first year as a public company. Initially, you will personally cover a broad range of responsibilities across sales, operations, business development and commercialisation while the wider organisation is established. The primary mandate will be to generate initial commercial revenue across two product lines while establishing the operational and governance infrastructure required to support a successful public company. Key Responsibilities Take full operational responsibility for the business, including ownership of the P&L and operating budget Establish, build and lead the Toronto-based corporate team Manage and coordinate an offshore web development team Lead the commercialisation of product lines, including pricing, routes to market, partnerships and customer acquisition Develop and execute the company's commercial strategy and growth plans Oversee the delivery of public-company requirements in collaboration with finance, investor relations and external advisors Maintain appropriate corporate governance, reporting and operational processes Report regularly to the Board on financial performance, cash burn, milestones, commercial progress and key risks Take a hands-on approach to business development and revenue generation during the initial growth phase. What We're Looking For The successful candidate is likely to be an experienced President, General Manager, Managing Director or Business Unit Leader who has operated with significant commercial and financial accountability. You will bring: Proven experience running a P&L or substantial business unit, including responsibility for budgets, people and commercial results Experience building teams and organisations in an entrepreneurial or growth environment Strong understanding of public-company reporting, governance and Board-level requirements Hands-on experience commercialising hardware, industrial technology, cleantech, battery technology, robotics or related products is highly desirable A strong commercial and business development background, with the ability to generate early-stage revenue personally The ability to operate effectively in a lean environment where senior leaders are expected to be hands-on Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to execute at an operational level The resilience and adaptability to build an organisation with limited resources and evolving priorities Canadian residency is required for regulatory purposes Compensation Base salary: CAD $150,000 Senior-level stock option package, representing the principal upside opportunity within the role Equity package and long-term opportunity will be discussed transparently during the recruitment process This is a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial senior executive to take a genuine build-from-the-ground-up leadership position, with significant influence over strategy, commercialisation, team development and the creation of a new public-company platform.
