Position Summary Brant Community Healthcare System is committed to providing healthcare that is culturally safe and inclusive. For Indigenous patients and families, this includes recognizing that culturally appropriate supports, community connections, and Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and healing are important components of the healthcare journey. Reporting to the Manager, Indigenous Services, the Assistant, Indigenous Services supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of Indigenous Health initiatives across BCHS. The role provides project and administrative support related to Indigenous patient pathways, community supports, staff education and training, and departmental initiatives. The Assistant works collaboratively with Indigenous Health Services, internal teams, First Nations communities, and external partners to coordinate pathways, education and training activities, project documentation, and other Indigenous Health initiatives. Primary Responsibilities Support the planning, coordination, implementation, and tracking of Indigenous Health projects and initiatives, including timelines, deliverables, documentation, and follow-up activities. Assist with the development and coordination of Indigenous patient health and discharge pathways, working with internal teams, First Nations communities, and community partners to identify appropriate services and supports. Support the development and revision of policies procedures and related documentation associated with cultural learnings, traditional medicines, and organizational initiatives. Provide administrative and documentation support, including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, tracking action items, maintaining project records, supporting policy and procedure documentation, calendar coordination, and completing related departmental reports. Mandatory Qualifications Applicant must be Indigenous Minimum two-year College Diploma in Business Administration, a relevant health discipline, or a related field. Two to three years of relevant experience in a hospital or comparable organizational setting, with exposure to clinical operations, administration, or project coordination. Knowledge and understanding of community services and supports available to Indigenous patients and families, with experience working with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities required. Demonstrated ability to support the development and documentation of patient pathways, education materials, and project-related resources. Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, community partners, and other stakeholders.
