Position: Registered Nurse Competition: 2026-260 (Current Opportunity) Status: Temporary Part-Time A (up to 6 months with possible extension) Department: Intensive Care Unit UNION: ONA Salary: $41.15-$58.98/Hour Position Summary Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Registered Nurse in the level 3 ICU is responsible for the provision of quality nursing care to critically ill patients and their families. The provision of such nursing care is expected to be within the Standards of Nursing Practice (CNO) and meet critical care standards. The Registered Nurse is expected to maintain competence and skills through on-going participation in provided continuing education and the participation of advance skills training. The Registered Nurse actively participates in CNO Quality Assurance Program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join an enthusiastic team of professionals who are collaboratively working to progress critical care in the community. Brockville General Hospital believes strongly in supporting staff to help them succeed. We offer onsite training for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) as well as opportunities to complete the critical care nursing course. We also offer onsite peer support, 24/7 respiratory therapy support, after hours learning specialists as well as the opportunity to join our Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT). Requirements Education and Experience: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Post graduate courses in Critical Care preferred or commitment to complete within one year of hire Minimum of 3 to 5 years of level 3 ICU experience required. Previous experience on a Critical Care Response Team (CCRT) preferred Valid B.C.L.S. and A.C.L.S. and maintained throughout employment period, or commitment to complete within one year of hire Skills And Abilities Excellent assessment interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work quickly, independently and adapt to a variety of situations including Code Blue and Resuscitation Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, provide teaching to patients, families and other staff members Dedication to ongoing learning expected Participates in service and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient-centred environment and that contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives Good attendance and availability required

Requirements

Requires current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and 3 to 5 years of level 3 ICU experience. Valid BLS and ACLS certifications are required or must be completed within one year of hire.
