Job summary

Title: Specialist _HCM Senior Applications Support Contract to Hire (Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident) Compensation: $65-$70 per hr. Brampton, ON Hybrid Position Summary Responsible for the support, maintenance, and optimization of Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, primarily PeopleSoft, and other enterprise applications. Key Responsibilities Provide Level 3 technical support for HCM systems, including PeopleSoft configuration, integration, reporting, troubleshooting, patching, and enhancements. Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, including T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning, backups, restores, and replication. Partner with HR, Finance, functional teams, and vendors to analyze business requirements and implement technical solutions. Maintain and monitor PeopleSoft application servers, web servers, and process schedulers in both on-premises and Azure environments. Monitor and support PeopleSoft batch processes, job scheduling, APIs, SFTP integrations, and other integration points. Apply PeopleSoft updates, PUM images, PeopleTools upgrades, bundles, and fixes while minimizing downtime. Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures. Ensure deployments follow established change management, quality assurance, and deployment processes. Participate in cross-functional projects to define and implement application-related requirements. Recommend improvements including automation, security enhancements, server consolidation, capacity planning, and application lifecycle management. Provide reporting and analysis on application performance metrics. Participate in project planning, including evaluating hardware, software, licensing, and technical requirements for new applications. Perform research and development to support innovation in Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments. Develop scalable technical solutions while managing feasibility and risk. Define technical roadmaps and guide the evolution of application environments. Maintain documentation of technical solutions and disaster recovery/business continuity plans. Participate in after-hours and on-call support. Mentor junior and intermediate team members. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One or more of the following certifications (or equivalent): Azure Database Administrator Associate PeopleSoft Human Resources 9.x Certified Implementation Specialist Oracle WebLogic Server 12c: Advanced Administrator II Azure Solutions Architect Expert Required Experience Minimum 5 years supporting HCM or similar enterprise applications (PeopleSoft, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, Workday, ADP, etc.). 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experience, including T-SQL, database design, query optimization, and performance troubleshooting. Strong Windows Server administration experience. Experience with Microsoft Azure, including deployment, monitoring, management, and Azure Site Recovery (ASR). Experience deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing secure, highly available application environments. Experience with application administration, performance tuning, proactive monitoring, and capacity management. Experience with SaaS backup and recovery solutions such as Metallic or Cohesity. Experience with APM tools including Dynatrace, DataDog, Splunk, LogicMonitor, or SolarWinds. Knowledge of PeopleTools, Application Designer, Integration Broker, and Change Assistant. Understanding of SDLC, DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, Ansible, GitLab, Docker, Jenkins, and Python. Basic project management knowledge. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license preferred.
