If you join our team, you will live our values: Confidence, Authenticity, Humility, Warmth POSITION OVERVIEW Cabot Cape Breton is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Talent & Culture Generalist to join our growing team. This is not an entry-level position; the role serves as a key partner to departmental leaders and operatives and supports Cabot’s Talent & Culture programs and processes across the organization, including payroll administration, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and Talent & Culture program delivery. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources, as well as a strong expertise and experience in HR operations, payroll processes, talent acquisition, employee experience, and organizational programs. They will play a critical role in supporting the smooth operation of the Talent & Culture team as well as seasonal and year-round workforce needs. This position requires a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates sound judgment and discretion, and is passionate about creating outstanding experiences for our team. Core Competencies/Key Functions: * Handle sensitive employee information with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. * Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with employment legislation and organizational standards. * Support payroll and benefits administration, including tracking enrollments, eligibility changes, and responding to inquiries from our team members. * Support the administration of Talent & Culture employee recognition and engagement programs. * Participate in recruitment and onboarding efforts, supporting departmental leaders in developing standardized onboarding programs, monitoring job postings, and assisting with application screening, interviews and developing talent pipelines. * Help to track recruitment progress, onboarding milestones, and program participation, maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date records. * Support basic employee relations inquiries and administrative matters, escalating complex or sensitive issues as needed. * Provide backup support across Talent & Culture functions during peak periods, seasonal operations, or team member absences. * Contribute to Talent & Culture projects and operational priorities that support departmental success. * Contribute to Talent & Culture projects and initiatives that enhance employee experience, safety, and operational effectiveness. * Model Cabot’s values of Confidence, Authenticity, Humility, and Warmth in all interactions. Qualifications: * CPHR designation * Human Resources or Business diploma or degree required * 3-5 years directly related experience * Occupational Health & Safety courses an asset. * 3+ years experience in Training & Facilitating * 3 years Recruitment experience * Proficient Microsoft Office Suite. * Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and organizational skills * Highly responsible & reliable Requirements of the role you should be aware of: * Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years. * As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work. Requirements
Candidates must possess a Human Resources or Business diploma or degree along with a CPHR designation. A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience is required, including specific expertise in recruitment and training.
