Title: Team Housing Facilities & Housing Services Assistant Reports to: Director, Talent and Culture Location: 18 Cabot Lane, Inverness, NS, B0E 1N0 Job Type: Full-time, Seasonal (March – November) Position Overview Reporting directly to the Manager, Team Housing, the position is a hybrid role that combines custodial duties and clerical work with light repair and maintenance responsibilities. This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, functional, and welcoming environment for employee accommodations, while assisting with minor maintenance tasks. The position requires a proactive, hands-on approach and an openness to learning new skills. Key Responsibilities Custodial & Facilities Upkeep (50-60%) Perform routine cleaning of common areas, including kitchens, bathrooms, laundry facilities, and shared spaces. Remove garbage and transport waste to designated disposal areas. Conduct regular inspections of team housing facilities to ensure cleanliness and functionality. Assist in seasonal preparations, including opening and closing accommodations. Maintenance & Repairs (20-30%) Assist in basic unit repairs, such as drywall patching, painting, and baseboard installation. Perform minor carpentry tasks, including assembling and repairing furniture (e.g., building beds, installing shelving). Support general upkeep of employee housing facilities, ensuring doors, locks, and fixtures are in working order. Conduct light landscaping tasks and outdoor upkeep as needed. Help maintain pool operations, including cleaning and chemical treatment (during operational months). Follow safety procedures when using hand tools and power tools; receive training as necessary. Clerical (10%-20%) Assist inputting demographic information into leases on the PMS (DoorLoop). Respond to Team Housing emails. Manage Team Housing spreadsheet - move-ins, damage deposits, assignment of rooms, vehicle information and special requests. Qualifications & Skills Willingness to learn and assist with various maintenance, custodial and clerical tasks. Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. Comfort working with tools, including circular saws and drills (training provided). Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while taking direction. Adaptability to changing priorities and tasks based on operational needs. Reliable and accountable in performing assigned duties. Previous experience in custodial work, maintenance, or property management is an asset but not required. As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work. Additional Details This is a hands-on position that requires physical work and adaptability. The role is a unique facility support function. The successful candidate will collaborate with members of the maintenance and housing teams. Other duties may be assigned based on operational needs.
