This role allows you to showcase your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities while operating our plastic injection machines. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor automatic plastic injection molding machines, performing regular in-process inspections to ensure parts consistently meet quality specifications and production standards. Identify machine jams, equipment malfunctions, and process issues; troubleshoot and make adjustments as required. Perform scheduled mold changeovers in accordance with established procedures. Complete material handling activities, including filling and emptying machine hoppers and transporting recyclable plastic to designated areas. Monitor and control the molding process to minimize waste and optimize efficiency during setup and production. Clean, inspect, and perform basic mold maintenance and repairs as assigned. Safely operate an overhead crane to position molds on the floor, pallets, or maintenance tables. Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Accurately record production counts, scrap, and related production data in Caframo's production data collection system. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety policies and procedures. What You Bring High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 to 2 years of manufacturing, production, or related technical experience is considered an asset. Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in troubleshooting equipment and processes. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work flexible hours and any shift schedule as required. Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required by the role. Training will be provided for injection molding machine operation, reach truck operation, electric pump cart operation, and overhead crane operation. Skills Considered Assets Post-secondary education in a related technical or manufacturing field. Previous experience operating plastic injection molding machines. Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or quality control processes. Experience using ERP or production data collection systems.
