Job Type: Full Time Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members. Position Overview Diagnostic Medical Sonographers deliver essential diagnostic imaging services to radiologists, specialists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. These images are critical in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions, injuries, and diseases. This role involves working with advanced ultrasound equipment in a multidisciplinary setting, supporting both scheduled and urgent patient needs. The clinic hours are 7:30 am – 3:30 pm – Monday to Friday, no evenings or weekends! Services are provided to active military members. No seniors, no children. Responsibilities Provide ultrasound services and perform general, specialized, and emergency examinations in accordance with Sonography Canada standards; Deliver high-quality patient care, including preparation, consent, and education throughout the imaging process; Operate ultrasound equipment to produce and evaluate diagnostic images, ensuring accuracy and quality; Maintain accurate patient records and communicate technical impressions to the healthcare team; Support a safe, efficient clinical environment through quality assurance, equipment maintenance, and supply management. Qualifications All Diagnostic Medical Sonographers must possess: Current certification and Full Practice Membership with Sonography Canada; and A valid BLS (Healthcare Provider) or CPR/AED Level C certification. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, including: Performing general, specialized, and emergency ultrasound examinations in a clinical setting; Applying diagnostic imaging quality assurance practices; and Operating digital imaging systems such as ultrasound, RIS, and PACS.
