Job Type: Part Time Division: Health Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members. Position Overview Calian is seeking Social Workers with interest in providing mental health services to Canadian Armed Forces members in their exclusive outpatient clinic located at CFB Dundurn. This role is ideal if you have an interest in treating the military population, operational trauma, and occupational health. This is a rewarding position where you’d make a difference in the lives of the men and women who serve our country and keep us safe. We’re seeking a part-time Social Worker, 18.75 hours per week. Responsibilities Managing crisis interventions and conducting risk assessments for individuals and families Conducting intakes and completing bio-psychosocial assessments for a wide range of presenting issues such as work-related stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, suicide ideation, relationship struggles, family stress, somatic complaints, personality disorders and PTSD Providing treatment through a variety of approaches including individual therapy, couples therapy, and group treatment therapy followed by evaluation of the treatment and therapeutic outcome Presenting the clients’ care with recommendations to the inter-disciplinary healthcare teams to develop an individualized treatment plan Analyzing the clients’ needs and provide information and advice to them and their families related to access to appropriate services and resources Facilitating educational activities and group interventions such as pre-deployment briefings, psychosocial services overview presentations, and group psycho-education sessions Implementing new interventions or treatment approaches such as telemedicine and virtual reality therapy Distributing local outreach material such as mental health awareness material to bases and units Creating and maintaining confidential client reports on treatment services Qualifications Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Social Work from a recognized university Must have a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience with an adult population administering assessments, creating treatment plans, and delivering counselling services for individuals, couples, and groups Must hold a current membership certificate with the Sasketewan College of Social Workers, and be authorized to provide Psycho-Social Interventions Current certification or willingness to obtain CPR Level C with AED Additional Requirements Must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level AI Usage Disclosure At Calian, we do not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to screen or evaluate candidates. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work and possess at least 3 years of post-graduate experience with adult populations. A current membership with the Saskatchewan College of Social Workers and authorization to provide Psycho-Social Interventions are mandatory.
