Summary of responsibilities: The Advisor, Program Innovation is responsible for leading, planning, developing, and conducting projects to support the development of CATSA’s overall screening program, including pre-board screening, hold-baggage screening, and non-passenger screening. The Advisor, Program Innovation performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: * Develops and presents status reports for project risks, issues, decisions, and actions. * Develops briefing notes, business cases, project proposals, project charters, trial plans, business cases and assessment reports. * Coordinates project teams comprised of subject matter experts. What you need to succeed To qualify for the position, you must have: * Graduation from a recognized college or university with specialization in Operations Research, Operations Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position. * A minimum of four (4) years of experience in supporting program management, organizing and preparing a variety of documents and reports. * Experience in analyzing operational performance data to recommend best courses of action. * Superior English language writing skills in business, science, and/or technical writing. * Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies. This position is best suited to individuals with the following skills and abilities: * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. * Ability to work effectively and independently under time pressure and adapt to changing priorities. * Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. * Ability to influence decision-makers using strong negotiation skills. * Ability to synthesize and interpret complex information and clearly communicate to others. * Analytical thinking and sound judgment to understand and address business issues. * Effective interpersonal skills. * Flexibility, creative problem-solving, innovation. Valuable skills include: * Project management certification. * Experience working in a government department or Crown Corporation. * Experience in, or knowledge of, air transportation and/or security industries. * Knowledge of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority's (CATSA) mandate, its operating environment, interrelationships with other government and industry stakeholders and SOPs. * Experience in researching, developing and validating assessments/surveys. * Experience using the MS Office suite of software products, including MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
