Role Description The Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mississauga, ON. The individual in this role will handle day-to-day accounting activities, including recording and reconciling financial transactions, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and preparing journal entries. The Accountant will assist in month-end and year-end close processes, support the preparation of financial statements and management reports, and help ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring cash flow, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners such as auditors and vendors. Qualifications Strong general accounting skills, including experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries. Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid knowledge of MS Excel and other standard office applications. Ability to analyze financial data, prepare reports, support budgeting and forecasting, and assist with month-end and year-end closing. Knowledge of relevant accounting principles, standards, and basic tax concepts applicable to Canadian businesses. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA or in progress) is an asset. Experience in distribution, wholesale, or food/meat industry environments is an advantage.
