What you’ll do The Radiation Protection Division (RPD) is accountable for directing the CNSC’s centre of excellence for operational radiation protection for all proposed and licensed nuclear facilities and activities. The division is responsible for the licensing of dosimetry services and implementing risk-based licensing and compliance activities. RPD also serves as the corporate authority on regulatory practices with respect to radiation protection/dosimetry and provides direction and represents the CNSC’s interests in relevant national and international organizations. We are looking for early to mid-career professionals to join our team. Reporting to the Director, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise to work as part of a team to: • conduct technical assessments and provide support for licensing and compliance activities related to operational radiation protection • contribute to the development/drafting of regulatory documents, regulations, policies and guidance related to radiation protection • provide advice and assist in the development and delivery of the CNSC’s Radiation Protection Program for CNSC staff and related training • provide support to national and international program activities Additional tasks of a Radiation Protection Officer may include participating in various types of outreach activities with stakeholder communities and supporting the CNSC’s Emergency Operations Centre. ///// Ce que vous ferez: La Division de la radioprotection (DRP) est chargée de diriger le centre d’excellence de la CCSN en matière de radioprotection opérationnelle pour toutes les installations et activités nucléaires proposées et autorisées. La Division est également responsable de l’autorisation des services de dosimétrie et de la mise en œuvre d’activités d’autorisation et de vérification de la conformité fondées sur le risque. La DRP fait également office d’autorité en matière de pratiques réglementaires dans le domaine de la radioprotection et de la dosimétrie. De plus, elle représente les intérêts de la CCSN et fournit de l’orientation auprès des organisations nationales et internationales concernées. Relevant du directeur, vous aurez l’occasion de mettre à profit vos connaissances spécialisées pour effectuer les tâches suivantes au sein d’une équipe : • réaliser des évaluations techniques et apporter un soutien aux activités d’autorisation et de vérification de la conformité liées à la radioprotection opérationnelle • contribuer à l’élaboration et à la rédaction de documents d’application de la réglementation, de règlements, de politiques et de guides sur la radioprotection • fournir des conseils et contribuer à l’élaboration et à la mise en œuvre du Programme de radioprotection pour le personnel de la CCSN et de la formation connexe • apporter un soutien aux activités des programmes nationaux et internationaux. Les tâches supplémentaires d’un responsable de la radioprotection peuvent inclure la participation à divers types d’activités de relations externes avec les parties intéressées et la fourniture d’une assistance au Centre des mesures d’urgence de la CCSN.
