Canadian Strategy Group (CSG) is hiring three Public Affairs Coordinators to support our clients’ mandates across the public affairs spectrum, including government relations, public affairs campaigns, strategic communications, and policy and research. We are looking for passionate individuals who bring a particular strength in one or more of the areas below and are looking to develop a broad foundation in public affairs. If you have a strong skill set and are interested in developing a broad foundation in public affairs through working with our team across Western Canada, we’d like to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Core Responsibilities Monitoring political, legislative, regulatory, media and public-policy developments Conducting research and synthesizing information into concise, useful analysis Preparing briefing notes, backgrounders, stakeholder and elected-official profiles, presentations and other materials for CSG or client use Supporting the CSG team and our clients with media scans, contact and stakeholder lists Attending and supporting client meetings, including agendas, minutes and action items Contributing to the development and execution of public affairs strategies Identifying developments, risks and opportunities that may be relevant to clients Areas of Strength You do not need experience in all four areas to apply. Writing and Content Are you particularly strong at distilling complex information into compelling, accessible content? Experience may include: briefing notes, newsletters, articles and opinion content; speaking notes or key message writing; advocacy or campaign materials; editing and adapting content for various audiences. Digital and Social Media Do you understand how people and organizations communicate and engage online? Experience may include: developing social media content and calendars; monitoring online conversations for emerging issues; adapting messaging for different digital platforms; developing website or email content; online audience or engagement analysis; basic digital analytics for paid/organic social campaigns. Policy Are you particularly interested in how government works and how policy is developed? Experience may include: legislative, jurisdictional and regulatory research; policy analysis; tracking government consultations and decisions; understanding political processes and stakeholders. Research and Insights Are you especially good at finding information, making sense of it and identifying what matters? Experience may include: primary and secondary research; media, stakeholder or public-opinion analysis; qualitative or quantitative analysis; trend analysis and environmental scans; translating research into practical recommendations. Essential Qualifications We encourage early-career candidates to apply. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and research tools. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and client needs. Familiarity with public affairs, communications, policy, politics, government, or research.
