Position Overview: We are seeking experienced Utility Operator to join our Civil Division asap. This position plays a key role in supporting the success of our underground utility installation and civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, reliable, and skilled in operating various pieces of heavy equipment in a range of civil construction environments. Key Responsibilities: Operate excavators, backhoes, skid steers, dozers, and other utility construction equipment Follow site plans, utility locates, and project specifications with precision. Perform trenching, expose existing utilities, and complete backfilling and compaction work as required. Perform daily equipment inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues. Work closely with site supervisors and crew members to meet project timelines. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications: Experience as a utility operator in civil construction or underground utility installation required. GPS experience would be an asset (Topcon or Trimble). Valid driver’s license Strong understanding of underground utilities, trenching practices, and safe digging techniques. Knowledge of safety standards and practices in civil construction. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work extended hours and shift rotations as required.
