Sessional Theory Instructors Cape Breton University invites expressions of interest from qualified nurse educators interested in serving as Theory Instructors within the School of Nursing. These appointments are made on an as-needed basis to address teaching vacancies throughout the academic year. Position Overview The School of Nursing maintains a pool of qualified instructors who may be appointed to teach theory courses when vacancies arise. Successful candidates may be hired to teach a specific course within the Nursing program for a designated academic term, depending on program needs and faculty workload requirements. Course assignments may vary and could include theory courses offered throughout the undergraduate Nursing program. Responsibilities The Sessional Theory Instructor will: Deliver course content in accordance with approved course outlines and program objectives. Facilitate student learning through lectures, discussions, and other instructional methods. Develop and administer course evaluations, assignments, and examinations as required. Assess student performance and provide timely feedback. Maintain accurate academic records and submit final grades in accordance with university policies. Participate in course-related activities and communicate regularly with students and School of Nursing faculty. Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Qualifications Applicants must possess: A Master's degree in Nursing or a related discipline. Proof of current RN registration/licensure Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in nursing theory and practice. Preference may be given to applicants with: Previous post-secondary teaching experience. Experience in curriculum delivery and student evaluation. Expertise in areas relevant to the identified course vacancy. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
