Summary This position is responsible for planning and teaching skate lessons, supervising public skates and teaching various on-ice programs. Key Duties & Responsibilities Establish a friendly, safe atmosphere for all visitors to the recreation center and maintain good customer service Create and implement lessons plans and program schedules Instruct children and adults of all ages and abilities, to skate and play hockey Work cohesively with other instructors in group settings Maintain safe work practices Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD. Performs other related duties as required. Additional Information Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, days and evenings, and on an as-and-when-required basis.Key Skills & Abilities Ability to teach hockey and/or skating to children and adults Strong, confident skating and/or hockey skills Enjoy working with children and/or adults Ability to establish rapport with children Ability to adapt to skill level of group Qualifications Recreational Skate Instructor Course Some directly related experience Certifications Acceptable criminal record check.
