Now Hiring: Recreation Assistant (Full-time) Location: Point Grey Private Hospital- Vancouver, BC About Point Grey Private Hospital Point Grey Private Hospital is a modern, purpose-built long-term care home offering 153 licensed residential care beds, primarily in private rooms. Renovated and expanded in 2020, this four-story home features large windows, ocean and mountain views, and a comfortable, homelike atmosphere with dining and recreation areas and spacious outdoor patios on each floor. What You’ll Do Participates in the organization, operation and promotion of recreation programs which include assisting residents with activities such as outings, parties, exercises, crafts and entertainment. Transport and/or ambulates residents to and from activities. Promotes and publicizes upcoming events. Sets up furniture and equipment for recreation programs. Teaching activities such as arts and crafts, sports, music, games and exercises. Supervises residents during organized outings. Observes and reports any changes in a resident’s functional and cognitive behavior to the nurse on duty. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to the designated supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements
Candidates must have a Grade 12 education and a current First Aid certificate. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the physical ability to perform the duties of the position are required.
