As an Accounting Clerk supporting our Toronto, Mississauga, and North York offices, you will be responsible for processing multi-location accounting transactions, handling high-volume bills, and assisting the broader finance team. Qualifications Minimum 4–6 years of experience in a legal accounting environment Strong understanding of real estate trust accounting and general ledger maintenance Ability to work occasional overtime when necessary to meet month-end deadlines Responsibilities Accounts Payable: Process full-cycle AP transactions for the law firm and management companies across multiple locations, including posting invoices, processing cheques and electronic payments, reviewing vendor statements, conducting monthly reconciliations, and reconciling the AP General Ledger. Accounts Receivable & Trust: Process AR payments, handle trust-to-general transfers, and serve as backup to the lead Trust Clerk for various monthly trust transactions. Billing & Matter Management: Assist with processing client bills and opening new clients and matters (acting as backup to the Senior Accounting Clerk). Reconciliation: Assist the Accounting Manager with monthly bank reconciliations for operational and trust accounts. Department Support: Cover other desks across the Toronto, Mississauga, and North York departments during absences and handle other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
