Job summary

Cascadia Metals is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Admin Assistant, to work out of our Hamilton branch. This will be an 18-month contract for a maternity leave, which could lead to a full-time role for the right person. In this role, you will be performing administrative duties. This is a position for someone who has administrative experience. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Responsibilities: · Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for customers, providing professional and timely assistance with general inquiries. · Perform Accounts Receivable administration, including cheque deposits, credit card payment processing through Moneris, applying payments in Steel Plus, releasing orders upon payment, issuing Statements of Account, and responding to account-related inquiries. · Act as the branch Accounts Payable contact, coordinating invoice inquiries and supporting branch payment processing. · Coordinate production scheduling to support operational requirements and customer commitments. · Provide sales and order administration, including creating and processing purchase orders and sales orders, completing inventory lookups, and providing order status updates to customers and Sales Representatives. · Coordinate the procurement of office and warehouse supplies and maintain appropriate supply levels. · Manage branch administrative services, including correspondence, document processing, inter-branch communications, incoming and outgoing mail, and courier services. Requirements: · Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative, office support, or receptionist role. · Post-secondary education in business administration or a related field is preferred. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. · Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach to customer and internal interactions. · Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail. · Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. · Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. · Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment in day-to-day administrative matters.
