The Role: The General Manager is fully accountable for the day-to-day restaurant operation, team leadership, guest experience, and financial performance of Freds Sechelt. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong floor presence, operational discipline, and a clear understanding of how decisions impact labour, costs, and profitability. This role is restaurant-only and works collaboratively with the hotel team where needed, while maintaining clear ownership of the restaurant’s performance. Key Responsibilities: Operations & Guest Experience: Lead daily restaurant operations with consistent floor presence Ensure exceptional guest experience at all times Maintain brand standards, cleanliness, and service excellence Oversee scheduling, service flow, and shift execution Address guest feedback professionally and proactively Leadership & People Management: Hire, train, coach, and develop FOH leadership and team members Build a positive, accountable, and respectful team culture Conduct regular performance check-ins and coaching conversations Manage disciplinary issues in line with company policies and BC labour standards Lead by example and set clear expectations Financial & Business Accountability: Own restaurant P&L performance Manage labour targets and scheduling efficiency Oversee inventory counts, ordering, and cost controls Review sales, labour, and cost trends and take corrective action Ensure all required reporting is completed accurately and on time Systems & Compliance: Ensure accurate use of POS, inventory, and scheduling systems Uphold health & safety standards and regulatory compliance Follow internal controls for cash handling, inventory, and payroll Execute company initiatives and operational improvements What We’re Looking For: 3+ years experience as a General Manager or Senior Restaurant Leader Strong understanding of restaurant financials (labour, COGS, controllables) Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable Confident decision-maker with a calm, professional leadership style Highly organized with strong follow-through Experience working in structured, multi-unit environments is an asset Passion for hospitality and community-focused restaurants Why Join Us: Clear expectations and strong operational support Opportunity to lead an established restaurant with room to grow Part of a growing hospitality group with long-term career opportunities Competitive compensation and performance-based incentives A leadership team that values accountability, respect, and sustainability
