Role Description The Human Resources Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Kamloops, BC. This position is responsible for leading the HR function, including developing and implementing HR policies, overseeing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing performance review processes, supporting leaders with coaching and workforce planning, and guiding recruitment and onboarding efforts. The Human Resources Director will also design and refine HR programs that strengthen organizational culture, support employee engagement, and align with CEC’s Four Pillars. Collaboration with senior leadership to support strategic growth and maintain a safe, inclusive work environment is a key aspect of this role. Qualifications Strong Human Resources (HR) leadership experience, including developing and managing HR programs and initiatives. Demonstrated ability to create, implement, and maintain clear HR Policies that align with organizational values and legal requirements. Proficiency in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, coaching, and supporting a respectful, inclusive workplace. Has developed and maintained robust workforce planning programs. Experience with Performance Management, including goal setting, feedback processes, and development planning. Solid understanding of Labor and Employment Law relevant to British Columbia and Canadian industrial sectors. Experience working in a unionized environment. Proven experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning in a construction or industrial environment is an asset. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels. Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CPHR or similar certification is an asset.
