Job Title: SAP Integration Specialist with EDI Experience Req ID: 139156 Region: Americas Country: Canada State/Province: Ontario City: Toronto Summary The Specialist, IT Solutions will have a strong technical foundation in complex payload transformations, Java, and a proven track record of delivering integration projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in complex payload transformations, Java, SAP Processes Orchestration (PO) Developer and a proven track record of delivering integration projects. Detailed Description 1. API Design and Development (Architecture & Specs) Design & Modelling: Design enterprise-level RESTful and SOAP APIs using OpenAPI specifications (Swagger) and RAML, ensuring strict adherence to microservices architecture principles. Implementation: Build, configure, and publish complex APIs and loopback applications. Custom Policies: Develop advanced custom policies and gateways utilizing DataPower Extension routing, User-Defined Policies (UDP), and custom JavaScript/GatewayScript. Security Enforcement: Implement robust API security policies including OAuth 2.0, JWT, Mutual TLS (mTLS), SAML, and custom client authentication certificates. Governance & Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end API lifecycle (Drafting, Publishing, Deprecating, and Retiring) and enforce API product management principles, including rate limiting and monetization plans. 4. DevOps, Deployment & Operations CI/CD Automation: Build and optimize continuous integration and deployment pipelines for APIC artifacts using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, and APIC toolkits/CLI. Cloud Architecture: Deploy and manage APIC instances deployed on containerized environments or public cloud infra (AWS/Azure). Monitoring & Analytics: Configure APIC Developer Portals and Analytics to monitor API performance, error tracking, usage metrics, and optimize payload caching. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Must-Have Technical Skills: Primary Tooling: Mapping Expertise (Crucial): Graphical Mapping: Advanced proficiency in graphical mapping, including the design and implementation of complex User-Defined Functions (UDFs) and multi-mapping scenarios. Java Mapping: Strong programming skills in Java for complex payload transformations. Must be comfortable writing custom Java mappings, utilizing DOM/SAX parsers, and handling scenarios where graphical mapping falls short. Architecture & Configuration: Deep understanding of the Enterprise Services Repository (ESR), Integration Directory (ID), and System Landscape Directory (SLD). Adapter Knowledge: Extensive experience configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting standard SAP PO adapters (REST, SOAP, AS2, JDBC,SFTP, IDoc_AAE, RFC, HTTP_AAE). Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills for debugging message failures, SAP IDOC monitoring and configuration Added Advantages (Highly Desirable): EDI & B2B Integration: Hands-on experience with the SAP B2B Add-on, Trading Partner Management (TPM), and AS2 adapters. Familiarity with standard EDI formats (e.g., EDIFACT, ANSI X12) and common supply chain messages (850, 855, 856, 810) is a major plus. SAP Integration Suite: Any exposure to SAP Cloud Integration (CPI) or experience assessing/migrating legacy SAP PO interfaces to the cloud Soft Skills & General Requirements: Ability to translate functional specifications into robust technical integration designs. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with functional teams, business stakeholders, and third-party external partners. Ability to work independently, manage multiple integration deliverables simultaneously, and mentor junior developers Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Salary The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range. Salary + Incentive = $77,000 - $109,000 (CAD) Typical Experience 6+ years of hands-on, end-to-end implementation and support experience with SAP PI/PO (versions 7.4 / 7.5 single stack).
