Reporting to the Controller, the Finance Advisor is a senior-level support and advisory position responsible for providing financial expertise, analysis, and guidance to the Finance team and business leadership. Drawing on extensive accounting and finance experience, the Finance Advisor will support complex financial matters, strengthen processes and controls, and help identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Finance operations. This role is well suited to an experienced finance professional who brings strong technical judgment and business acumen and enjoys contributing as a trusted advisor rather than through direct people management. Core Responsibilities Provide senior-level financial and accounting advice and support to Finance leadership and the broader Finance team. Review and provide guidance on complex accounting, reporting, financial control, and policy matters. Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities. Analyze financial information and provide practical recommendations to support business decisions. Review financial processes, controls, and workflows and identify opportunities for improvement. Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, consistency, and scalability. Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and standardize Finance processes and reporting. Support the development and documentation of Finance policies, procedures, and internal controls. Assist with audits, special projects, and other Finance initiatives as required. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to Finance team members. Partner with operational and corporate teams to understand business needs and provide financial guidance. Support Finance leadership with ad hoc analysis and strategic initiatives as required. Qualifications CPA designation required. 10 years+ of post-designation or progressively senior accounting and finance experience. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Demonstrated ability to assess complex financial issues and provide practical, well-reasoned recommendations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with limited supervision. Strong proficiency with financial systems, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools. Experience working in a multi-entity, operational, industrial, or services-based organization would be considered an asset. Experience with continuous improvement, process improvement, finance transformation, or workflow optimization would be considered a strong asset. Why Join the Centurion Team?
